Building a climate-resilient Maryland together

B2B Meetings - How does it work?

During this session you will meet with other individuals interested on Resilience via 1on1 chats via video call over the course of 20 minutes. You will not need to coordinate an external video call platform (e.g.:Zoom, Skype), as the meetings will be held by accessing this website the day of the event at the pre-arranged time of your meetings (make sure your timezone is set correctly).

You select the participants with whom you are interested to meet and accept/decline meetings proposed.

For a 20 minute session, each participant gets 8 minutes to introduce your organisation and expertise, share project examples, identify possible areas of affinity or complementary roles, exchange follow up information or if applicable, and set up a follow up exchange.

We hope these meetings help you build fruitful connections before the bell rings and your next resilience partner date appears.

1) Registration

  • Register via the "Register now" button
  • To maximize the quality of your connections, set up a profile

2) Publish a business profile to showcase your needs

Create a clear and concise business profile to raise your visibility on this platform and make the most of your matches and 1on1 chats.
Your profile should describe who you are, the work of your organization, who you are hoping to meet, and whether you are seeking to connect on a specific topic (e.g. coastal communities resilience, ideas for heat stress reduction in a busy city, long term implementation of projects, etc.)
Your profile will be visible only to registered parties before, during, and after the event.

3) Browse profiles of attendees

Find out who else is attending and has expertise in the topics of your interest. With world-renowned experts knowledgeable on rural resilience, citizen engagement, flood risk reduction, engineering with nature, heat stress mitigation strategies, finance for resilience projects, and nature-based solutions, there is an expert out there matching the needs of your community available to meet.

4) Send & receive meeting requests

Be active, not reactive. Browse published participants' profiles and send a meeting request to those who you would like to meet during the matchmaking session. When proposing a meeting you will be asked the timeslot and the person accepting will also confirm that timeslot. Make sure your meetings are added to your calendar!

Booking considerations

  • Meeting requests have to be accepted to be scheduled
  • Meetings will last 20 minutes
  • Make sure your timezone is correct, the default is EST (Maryland)

5) Matchmaking Event
